Sound Century Academy of Recording Arts and Broadcasting and Media Library was founded on March 10, 2022. However, my career since 1970 has archived material that reflects the Sound of Broadcasts — truly great advertising, literature, and music. Mostly, as a recording artist, journalist, and historian, what was keeping me up at night was that our sound history has been recorded on several formats since I began my career. Reel-to-reel, cassettes, DAT and ADAT tapes, records, 78s, 45s, and 33⅓s ar

CORE Recreation

CORE Recreation

"The essence of creation is recreation." — Richard Arnold Beattie, CORE Values The story of creation, from the beginning, is the human mandate of "seeing the thing through new eyes." How does that look in your life? The balance of home, work, and identity is often clouded by what we make. What if the balance is to create daily, recreate daily — to serve, produce, and reach out with what you make? Not quantity, but the quintessential thing you were made to do. *The Market and Distribution

CREATE and Bake it: Scones

CREATE and Bake it: Scones

"When life gives you mashed potatoes, make tatty scones. " Potatoes have an emotional connection in Celtic culture. Some say during the famine is when it started. As a Long Islander for my development and launching years, Tatty Scones in stacks were prepared using Long Island potatoes, by my Scottish grandmother, Nellie Beattie who we called Nanny. Potatoes were a major crop for the Long Island farmers, out near Mattituck. Now it is Long Island Wine Country. 🍷 Farming and raising ducks on the

CO-Lab: A Colorado Co-Laborative!

CREATE Weekend is my favorite. This week we invented a way to bring communities together in Colorado through a joint venture mechanism called The CO-Lab. CO-Laborers at home, through the work we were made for and in community. It is also a Colorado Laboratory where we can test this stuff in our studios! The Needs of Colorado From undoing the damage caused by selling water rights, to planting plants and vegetation on our Main Streets while preserving mixed-use buildings for home, work, and commu

Think and Act Groups -Agrarian growing Entrepreneurship

During the school year, many rural community public schools, like our two little towns in the Big Mountain Valley have for many years closed on Friday. This gave farm and ranch families a time for the entire family to work the ranch and the farm together. In the last three decades, sports activities, clubs and three day weekends have taken up the time, and most kids in our now tourist and seasonal towns, are not exposed to Agrarian growing or entrepreneurial pursuits. ReCREATE Rural Transportation

ReCREATE Rural Transportation

I was looking at a website with classic cars and thinking about our love affair with the combustible engine. It got me thinking about technology has come so far, and questioning why it has not gone far enough? On a recent vacation, my wife and I rented a car that was a Hybrid Toyota Camry. It was wonderful. The gas engine regenerates energy and at slower speeds converts it to electric energy, giving us about 45 miles to the gallon. Since I prepaid the gas I passed a lot of Arco Gas Stations. H

CREATE - Art in Recreation

As I continue on my sole mission to CREATE Daily, I learn more about serving my community, through recreation, education, arts, travel/transportation and entrepreneurship and how those topics are integral parts of my life. The Art in enviornmental, economic and educational living is at the heart and mind of what really matters in our culture and community and the kinetics for overall health and wellness in mind and heart are where healing can happen. The Homecoming. To all the High-school Graduates. You will hear, "go big, or go home." But what if you are needed to learn well, live well, love well and land well at home? Artificial economics, like artificial grass, are smoke and mirror games that will take you away from what really matters. Let's get small. Take care to assess our communities and let us study the benefits of farming, ranching, thinking, writing, and action. Agriculture economics, Landscapes of Renewable Resources and addressi

CREATE Artful Media

I teach and learn by using Word art in Poetics and Acrostic. It has served me well and continues to grow my awareness and systematic daily thinking and activity. Word Art is the literal Framework designed to spur creative ideas at home through work and in the communities I serve. I achieve CREATE Daily in 6 areas that are key to be stewards of. Community, Recreation, Education, Arts, Travel, and Entrepreneurship. These main CREATE Subjects coincide from Monday to Saturday. This helps my CREATE

CREATE Renewable Resources

Reflection is something that most Americans need to get back to to CREATE a future for our children and grandchildren. As we practice quiet time where we live, work and are in community, it is important to see the thing that we made our communities into, how we turned recreation addictive behaviors, the state of our educational systems, arts and media, travel and transportation, and our jobs. Making Chaos The thing we have turned recreation into industrial sized, canibas, gambling, and gaming i

CREATE Healing with Art and Media

CREATE Healing with Art and Media

"The art of healing is to know that we are not the cure." Entrepreneurship in arts and media is in the purest sense finding the pain points in the communities we serve and to come up with creative and innovative ways to provide healing for those pain points. In Colorado the pain points are housing, economics, ecological, and health. As I have written in CREATE Daily the crises are not political, economical, ecological, occupational, psychological or philosophical. The crisis is a creative crisi

Entrepreneurial pursuit is a systematic science with a whole lot of art in the mix. When I stopped looking for a job and systematically worked on my CREATE Daily mission, I was able to understand the difference and the crossroads of the intersection of the founder's funding and the aspect of financing. There I found a well of resources of stories, unique offerings, collaborative friends who enjoy cultivating and curating ideas of innovation and services based on the work that fulfills the soul a

Along America's Lonliest Highways are the most diverse art centers and Colorado's stretch of Highway 50 has some of the most intriguing. The Art of Being Real

The Art of Being Real

Can we make Artificial Intelligence an ally in the midst of pursuing truth? I hired AI to be my editor in the original content that I create. It does a good job weeding out words that on my mobile phone get misconstrued partially by Gemini. I dislike the manufactured suggested reply it often conjures up. Yet instead of throwing the baby out into cyberspace, I have learned to be the human in the room and gently correct it. In correcting AI, I have helped it obtain knowledge that it misconstrued o

CREATE Recreational Landscapes

The dismal report from Colorado ski areas and early wildfire season is making recreation entrepreneurs rethink our landscape. Snow melt is looking scarce and the natural runoff is evaporating before it reaches streams and lakes. At FlingGolf and FlingFitness the future of the Fairway in Colorado is in need of innovative thinking. At Valley Parks and Recreation in the Wet Mountain Valley a new season is upon the All Ages Activities. Saint Andrews Golf Course was sold many years ago. The closest

CREATE Solutions Through Travel and Transportation

CREATE Solutions Through Travel and Transportation

CREATE Daily is more than an acrostic — and it is more than where you live and work. It is about whom you are in community with. Over the past year, I have traveled extensively, studying transportation systems, reviewing hundreds of hotels, restaurants, and modes of travel, all while telling the stories of people, places, and the things that move them. Closer to home, I have served as a communications specialist for rural transportation and Main Street Connections. At one conference, I listened

Wind and Dust on the eve of April, wreak havoc on our recreational plans. Golf courses are not places to spend time or money. It is apparent that in times of apparent climate change, Kentucky Blue Grass does not mix well with tumbleweeds abd dust devils. And yet with early Spring, Coloradans are intrigued with FlingTraining and purchasing sticks from New Swarm. For training I have dreamed of making golf course videos of Jorge Cruz or Lucy Wyndahm Read to play indoors at home or the local recre
