• One account — One person or entity may not maintain multiple accounts

2. Content Guidelines

We are committed to quality local journalism. All content published on My Local Press must:

• Be truthful — Accurate to the best of your knowledge
• Respect others — Respect the privacy and rights of others
• No harassment — Not contain hate speech, harassment, or threats
• Original work — Not infringe on copyrights or intellectual property
• Follow ethics — Comply with our Code of Ethics

We reserve the right to remove content that violates these guidelines.

3. Your Content

You retain ownership of content you create and publish on My Local Press. By publishing, you grant us a license to display, distribute, and promote your content on our platform.

• Your responsibility — You are responsible for the content you publish
• Deletion — You may delete your content at any time
• Promotion — We may feature your content to promote local journalism

4. Payments and Revenue

My Local Press enables journalists to earn money through advertising and reader support.

• 90% to creators — Journalists receive 90% of revenue from support and ads
• 10% platform fee — My Local Press retains 10%
• Payment processing — Payments are processed through Stripe
• Taxes — You are responsible for any applicable taxes on your earnings

5. Location Services

My Local Press uses location to connect you with local content and communities.

• Permission required — Location access requires your permission
• Local content — We use location to show relevant local news
• Publishing location — Journalists can set a primary contributing location
• Privacy — Exact locations are never shared publicly

6. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination:

• Content removal — Your content may be removed from the platform
• Payments — Outstanding payments will be processed per our payment terms
• Data retention — Some information may be retained as required by law

7. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on our platform or sending you an email. Continued use of My Local Press after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
