Chinquapin's River Gage A Look Back at a Historic Landmark"

The old USGS river gage at Chinquapin, erected in 1940. I have not been boating by since I took this photograph in early 2018, but I was told the tower was damaged during Florence. In December 2018, the USGS station was incorporated into the NC 41 bridge. The tower was demolished a year or so ago.
