CREATE CAMP!
You asked, and we agreed! BreakThru Network and Sound Century Radio are teaming up to bring you a Creative Audio Musical Publishing Festival that brings recording arts, broadcasting and publishing to an organic hybrid! Writers, authors, song poets, producers and engineers are invited to submit their work. CAMP is the newest media genre that combines the ancient arts of storytelling, songwriting, art, photography, history and community building with analog and digital recording, script and scene writing, quintessential presentations, journalism, advertising and musicianship. From the producers of Folk Heroes, CREATE Daily and CREATE SUCCESS, and Walking the Same Ground. Beattie Communications, Sound Century, From Broadway to Jones Beach and A Musical Life by Richard Arnold Beattie. The Festival is on stage, on air and online. "The idea is to train and mentor the next generation of journalists, advertisers, musicians, producers and audio book publishers to lift up their communities through creating resources and curriculum that will be home grown, in recreation and fitness, education and continuing education, arts and media, transportation and travel and responsible entrepreneurship.
BreakThru Network
"Asking the right questions," is what gets us breaking through in interviews and hosting, writing and reporting. BTR- (Beattie Radio) is training teams to be self-sustaining in their communities by building trust through MyLocalPress.com. CAMP is part of the Community Organizations for Responsible Entrepreneurship, which empowers media professionals to be self-sustainable through producing and marketing their advertising skills as well as building subscriptions and membership to their content. "As a recording artist, writer and musician, I came in at a time when everything was siloed through unions," said Richard Arnold Beattie, the founder of Beattie Communications and curator/president of Sound Century Academy for Recording Arts and Broadcasting. "It is when I learned to create, produce and share content and take responsibility for what we write, produce and release!" "That is a powerful freedom to be able to be entrepreneurial in your creative practice."
CORE Objectives
In an era of climate and culture change, it is important to guide the coming generations in preserving and protecting history, journalism and the integrated arts such as media, fine arts, theater, music and dance. "We are responsible for digital and whatever comes after digital media," Beattie continues. "I have songwriting students who are feeding AI original lyrics, naming a genre and getting a generic song, that they could never hope to perform. It may be satisfying for the moment, but frustrating for the long term." Meanwhile, Beattie is teaching the student the basic "three chords and the truth."

The Story-Song
When Beattie was starting there were lots of encouragers and mentors. Richard Rodgers famously told Beattie after his child actor career was over, "to be a good songwriter — because the world needs great songs." "All through my career, I had mentors and coaches. Harry Chapin, Donald Meyers, Constance Towers, John Fearnley, Harry Tuft and Jim Williamson at The Sound Emporium in Nashville. "Integrity is integrating your schedule, skills and stewardship into giving and receiving," Beattie says. "My father, who was a great architect, became a great professor of architecture and he taught me creative and scientific process, planning and the architecture of writing, composing, producing and releasing. My father was a perfectionist who knew how to finish well."

Soul Work — A Good Pursuit
If you watch the World Cup in Fútbol, you can understand what happens when players play out of position. It is the same thing in music and media, or business, teaching or publishing. People are taught to follow the money, but so often the money isn't where the riches are. At Community Organizations for Responsible Entrepreneurship, when you fill a need in your community and serve that need, the magic is in how rich the content of your character can benefit the community. That is sustainable community building within and outward. That is why I write, it is why I sing, it is why I record and broadcast. When I stopped looking for a job, I found my Soul Work.
