Lubbock Frequency Policies

Lubbock Frequency is committed to accurate, fair and responsible journalism. Our goal is to provide useful, trustworthy coverage of Lubbock, the South Plains, music, culture, outdoors, sports and independent voices from Texas and beyond.

Corrections

We take accuracy seriously. If we discover that an article contains a factual error, we will review the issue as soon as reasonably possible and make appropriate corrections promptly after the error has been verified.

For significant factual errors, we will add a correction note to the article identifying the nature of the error and, when appropriate, the corrected information. The correction note will appear within or near the affected article so readers can readily see that a correction has been made.

Minor typographical, spelling or formatting errors may be corrected without a separate correction notice when they do not change the meaning of the article.

Corrections will not normally result in the original information simply being removed without explanation when doing so could leave readers with a misleading impression. When appropriate, we will preserve a record of the correction while updating the inaccurate information.

If you believe an article contains a factual error, please contact us and identify the specific information you believe is incorrect. Whenever possible, include reliable documentation or a source that can help us verify the issue.

Ethics

Lubbock Frequency strives to report honestly, fairly and responsibly. We seek information from reliable sources, verify important facts and provide appropriate context. We do not knowingly publish false information, fabricate quotes or misrepresent the people, organizations or events we cover.

When reporting involves allegations, disputes or controversial claims, we seek to clearly distinguish verified facts from allegations, opinions and statements made by individuals or organizations.

We may receive access to events, performances or other opportunities as part of our journalism. Access does not guarantee favorable coverage.

Sponsored, promotional or otherwise compensated content will be identified appropriately so readers can distinguish it from editorial coverage.

Ownership

Lubbock Frequency is an independent publication. Editorial decisions are made with the goal of serving our readers and maintaining the publication's journalistic standards.

Unless otherwise identified, original articles, photographs and other creative work published by Lubbock Frequency are owned by Lubbock Frequency or the individual creator and may not be reproduced or republished without permission.

When material is provided by a third party, we will make reasonable efforts to identify the source or creator when appropriate.

Complaints and Feedback

We welcome legitimate questions, corrections and concerns about our coverage. If you believe we have made an error or handled a story improperly, please contact us with the article in question, a description of your concern and any relevant supporting information.

We will review complaints in good faith and determine whether a correction, clarification, update or other action is appropriate. Contacting us does not guarantee that an article will be changed or removed. Editorial decisions will be based on the facts, circumstances and applicable standards rather than pressure to produce a particular outcome.

We also welcome constructive feedback about what we cover and how we serve the Lubbock community.

Our Commitment

Lubbock Frequency is committed to learning, improving and being accountable to its readers. We will make reasonable efforts to acknowledge significant mistakes, correct inaccurate information and explain our editorial decisions when appropriate.

Our goal is simple: to provide coverage that readers can trust while telling the stories of the people, places, music and culture that make Lubbock and the surrounding region worth knowing.
