WEST CHESTER, PA — Beneath South Church Street, the focus is on the water lines serving downtown. At street level, the immediate concern for residents, businesses and drivers is access.

The project involves replacing sections of water main between Market Street and West Miner Street. Excavation and temporary road restoration are part of that work. Any improvement in water pressure will need confirmation from Aqua Pennsylvania once the relevant sections are in service.

The schedule provided for this update calls for South Church Street to reopen to traffic at 4 p.m. between work periods, with restrictions returning at 7 a.m. the following morning. Those times should be treated as scheduled access windows; actual reopening and parking availability depend on conditions and posted restrictions.

Additional work is reported for East Miner Street between High Street and Matlack Street, with traffic restrictions expected through Friday. The precise schedule and its connection to the South Church Street project have not been independently confirmed.
