Cipriani to Open Punta del Este Operation in December, Its First Resort Globally

Cipriani is slated to open its Punta del Este resort this December. It's expected to open for the summer tourist season which attracts millions of people to the area. The resort will be the first from the company globally, and will pay homage to the historic San Rafael hotel.

The San Rafael hotel and casino welcomed guests for decades before it was demolished in 2019. The site is located at Parada 11 on La Brava beach, in Punta del Este. It's a global destination for high-end tourism that delivers top tier service and unmatched natural beauty.

The Cipriani Resort, Residences & Casino Punta del Este represents an investment of US$700 million according to local media. It's design is ambitious, offering 64 suites and other options. Rooms are expected to start at US$1,550 per night in the high season.

Hassen Balut, who is in charge of the interior design at the project, commented on the interior design concept, saying, "(its) an experience in which each window frames Punta del Este like a unique and unrepeatable postcard."

Cipriani Punta del Este is a standout development. It's joined by numerous other luxury buildings that stretch up the coast to the beach village of Jose Ignacio, and beyond.
