When genetically mutated super soldiers pose an imminent threat to former army sniper, Celeste and her little community out in the desert, it's time to pull out her past military training to protect everyone she loves. The question is will she be able to protect everyone and even more so, why her and why now?

At an hour 32 minute run time, Onslaught is certainly an action driven adventure with a bit of a terminator vibe. It definitely has elements that will make one wonder if Arnold Schwarzenegger will show up. Alas no Arnie, but the film does showcase some newer cast members including Adria Arjona, who is no stranger to both action and horror. She pulls out all the moves tha she picked up in both Hitman and Blink Twice to give an outstanding power packed performance, blood and all. Additionally, she is joined by a young actress, portraying her daughter (Blake Kennedy) in her first feature length film. All in all, Kennedy matchs the vibe of her adult counterparts as she holds her own even when it seems sheis the only one left for the soldier to come after. She has a certain leval of maturity while following cues quite well.

Finally the film would not be complete without a few well known faces including Family Matters' Reginald VelJohnson as Celeste's friend and father figure who ultimately is a role made for VelJohnson. He definitely adds that Family Matter charm in a way that only he can do so. Dan Stevens also rounds out the cast as a sneaky man with a mission as he is ultimately one of the ones responsible for the soldiers. Connected to Rebeecca Hall as the lead woman involved in the special mission, it's one that even after the film is over, will have the audience wondering what is next as the writers certainly left it open for a potential sequel.

All in all, Onslaught is one film that you have to see to understand and action lovers will certainly get a kick out of all the witty action on the screen.

The film came out in theaters September 4th and is currently playing at one near you.
