English Rookie Charlotte Heath has claimed the LA Sella Open trophy!

It was a challenging tournament, with strong contenders and weather delays that shortened the event from 72 holes to 54. Still, Charlotte Heath showed remarkable consistency throughout the week.

Charlotte Heath, an English newcomer on the Ladies European Tour, converted her lead into her first major tour victory at the La Sella Open. She shot 68–65 through two rounds to reach 11-under, building a four-shot lead. Her second-round 65 included a six-under front nine and an eagle, putting her firmly in control.

Although she faced a mental struggle, her caddie helped give her the confidence to keep playing strong. With the tournament shortened by severe weather, the final round became decisive, but Heath’s lead remained untouchable. Charlotte Heath’s Rookie Trajectory

She pulled off a stunner at the La Sella Open, winning by four shots despite sitting 44th on the LET Order of Merit coming in. Her rookie season had been mixed, with some solid top-15 finishes, but also missed cuts and a withdrawal. Nothing suggested she was about to dominate.

She didn’t just beat the tour’s best—she crushed them. The Order of Merit leader, Casandra Alexander, finished T14, while Heath’s 11-under total was six shots better than anyone in the top 10.

It is especially exciting to see rookies not only win, but do so with such poise and consistency. Moments like these are part of what makes golf such a compelling sport.

This wasn’t a fluke, but it’s not the start of a dynasty either. Heath has shown flashes of elite ball-striking all season; La Sella was simply the week everything clicked. Can she do it again? Absolutely.
