The day history was made

On March 10,2026, A Miami Heat player by the name of Bam Adebayo made history. Bam racked up an unbelievable total of 83 points. Yes you read it right, 83 total points. In doing so he passed Kobe Bryant’s magnificent game with his total being 81 points.Bam was just 17 points away from tying the greatest record of all time. Wilt Chamberlain’s 100 point game. Some people think that Wilt’s 100 point game was fake, myself being one of those people. Now let’s get into the details of Bam Adebayo’s incredible game this past Tuesday. In a regular NBA game there are just 48 minutes played all together. Bam played 42 of those 48 minutes, which takes a lot of a player no matter who you are. Here are some of Bam’s stats from the game. 20-43 on total shots, 7-22 on total three-pointers, and finally 36-43 on free throws. Some people have been saying that he doesn’t deserve to hold his record or that he only got to 83 points because of his free throws, well I say the exact opposite. I say that this is well deserved for Bam, and here are some reasons why. Bam only made 36 of his free throws which from what I saw were very well deserved free throws. No player embodies or represents the Heat culture better than him on that roster. Adebayo’s constant ability to grow as a defensive anchor, and now an amazing scorer on a roster full of talent is incredible. Not to mention, but he’s carried an enormous load this season. From the team battling all types of injuries and have been very inconsistent this season. But Adebayo has been the anchor of this team carrying the Heat on his back to the 6th seed in the Eastern Conference. Lastly, this was a special moment for Adebayo and his mother. Adebayo himself has said that he grew up in a trailer in North Carolina with his mother. He has also mentioned that his idol was Kobe Bryant. Breaking his record was emotional for him in ways most people could never even fathom. Adebayo’s record wasn’t about stat chasing or cherry picking, this just shows how much work he has put in to become the player he is today.
