- Eagles Travel to face West Stanly
Oakboro, NC—The Central Eagles look to continue their strong start to the season when they travel to face the West Stanly Colts. The Eagles, ranked number two in 1A in South Carolina, look to improve to 3-0. Central avenged its only regular season loss last year, defeating the Andrew Jackson Volunteers 42-20 on September 4.
The Eagles rushing attack fueled its win last week, led by Senior running back Marzavious Allen. Allen rushed for over 300 yards and five touchdowns in Central’s first two games. Senior quarterback Dwayne Louallen rushed 229 yards and four touchdowns.
The Eagles defense caused six turnovers, four interceptions and two fumbles, in the first two games. Central also sacked quarterbacks seven times.
The Colts rushing attack fueled its 2-1 start, led by Senior running back Sam Defreitas. Defreitas averages 82 yards ruhing a game and has scored five times.
Junior Athlete Mason Jackson and sophomore linebacker Cooper Harley lead West Stanly’s defense at nearly seven tackles a game. Senior defensive end Barrett Barbee leads the Colts with three sacks.
Central tries for second road win of the season on September 11. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30.
