The town issued a request for qualifications on September 4 seeking a planning and design firm to prepare a downtown master plan.
The project will look at approximately 0.75 square miles of downtown Ridgeland, which the town has divided into three planning areas.
The plan is expected to look at several parts of downtown, including potential redevelopment sites, historic properties, the street network and opportunities to make the area more walkable.
The town also wants the planning process to examine zoning standards, non-conforming properties and possible changes that could help support future development.
Community involvement will also be part of the process, with the town calling for a community engagement strategy as part of the project.
Firms interested in the project have until October 2, 2026, at 5 p.m. to submit their qualifications.
