A Sweet Taste of Greece, Italy and Belgium in Toronto

Greek food in Toronto holds a special place in my heart. Although I’ve never been to Greece, I've lived in Etobicoke my whole life, and I've travelled around the city. Greek people have welcomed me in with food and smiles. Whether it’s chicken souvlaki dinner or a Caesar salad. However, now I’ve found a new gem among a new breakfast, lunch, and mid-afternoon treat spot in Etobicoke.

Leonidas Chocolates and Greek Pastries located in 115 Humber College blvd wellness centre. They also sell Italian food and Belgian chocolates. A lightly tattooed smiling young woman takes my order as I get my hospital bed-resting mother some ice cream. I ask her if it’s a new restaurant, and she answers back that it’s a family-owned franchise.

Instead of chocolate and vanilla swirl ice cream for my mom, which takes me back to my childhood and ordering it with the ice cream truck man, I decided to get a strawberry and honey smoothie. I took a few sips of it before bringing it to my mom in the hospital next door. Seasonal, maybe, but delicious, yes. But with me being the only customer there for maybe thirty minutes, I wish they had more customers to enjoy the delicious food, drinks, and chocolates.

I saw them on UberEATS this August 31st; no strawberry and honey smoothies on their menu list, but be sure to ask about it when you go there to eat. There are Greek cookie treats and lots of chocolate options at Leonidas. Take a seat in the Humber Wellness Centre cafeteria and enjoy.

I’ll make sure to go back there before the summer weather turns into a fall serenade.
