GARDEN CITY, Idaho (CBS2) — An illegal campsite reported along the Greenbelt at Plantation Island in Garden City was cleared this week after deputies found it had remained in place for more than two weeks following a removal notice.

Deputies followed up last month on a citizen complaint about an illegal campsite in the area. When they checked the site, it appeared abandoned, and on July 22 they posted a 24-hour notice of removal. After 16 days, the campsite still appeared untouched. On Aug. 7, deputies and the Ada County Sheriff’s Office Sheriff’s Labor Detail returned to clean up the site. Several items of value were recovered and booked into Ada County Property & Evidence for owners to claim.
