In an attempt to connect with his teenage son, a father decides to sneak him into a 16 and over Rolling Loud Concert, while his wife is away at an all girl night. Things get tricky as his son run off at the concert and leaves the father to try to find him with the help of some very eccentric friends.
The comedic film stars Runner's Owen Wilson and Oak Street's Christian Convery who do a exceptional job of creating a typical father son bond that will have audiences cracking up over the stupidity. Additionally, real life rapper Travis Scott has a cameo in the film which ultimately grounds the film in a more serious way. He even helps Wilson's character further connect with his son in a way that will have you rooting for a happy ending.
Finally the film wouldn't be complete without Matt Rife as Wilson's crazy coworker, Christne Ko, a random woman at the festival that ultimately proves to be a great help and Henry Winkler as Wilson's Boss and Rife's father, who they both secretly have a beef with.
All in All, Rolling Loud: The Movie is a comical movie with a heartfelt message to parents to create unique moments with their children that they will remember. The only issue with the movie is viewer discretion is advised as alot of the humor contains adult themed content that may not be appropriate to younger audiences. Additonally there is very explicit language that might be offensive to the wrong audiences.
That being said, if one can look past the language, it's a film that will leave one feeling good at the end even with the finally comedy scene when the mom finally figures out what is going on. It's a film that has to be seen to be understood.
Rolling Loud:the movie came out in theaters Oct 1 and is currently playing at limited theaters near you. See it if you dare.
