'Dangerous' Key Largo Man Who Once Stole Police Cruiser, Then Carjacked Woman, Now on the Run: Sheriff

South Florida authorities are searching for a man they describe as "dangerous" after he failed to appear for the final day of his trial on Friday.

The suspect, a Key Largo resident, was facing charges stemming from a bizarre crime spree in which he allegedly stole a police cruiser and then carjacked a woman. He did not return to court as proceedings concluded, prompting the sheriff's office to issue a warrant for his arrest.

Investigators are urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact local law enforcement immediately. Authorities have not yet released additional details on the search, but have reiterated warnings to the public not to approach the suspect directly given the nature of his prior offenses.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
