The Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation announced the completion of three major trail projects with assistance from staff and 71 volunteers, who contributed 1,000 hours of work. The projects included the Winnemucca Trail Bridge Project, the Dairy Creek Trail Project, and the North Fork Big Creek Bridge Project. The Winnemucca project replaced an existing ford, constructed a new bridge, installed a trail kiosk, and resolved additional trail problems. The bridge connects to an extensive network of single-track motorcycle trails and allows vehicles 50 inches or less. East Region Trails Specialist Brian Dilenge said the projects faced challenges such as weather and the loss of helicopter support, but volunteers and partners remained committed until the work was completed.
