BOISE, Idaho — Emergency responders are currently on-site at Payette Lake conducting a water rescue and search operation following a distressing incident late Monday night. According to the Valley County Sheriff's Office, authorities received a call regarding a water emergency at approximately 8:45 p.m.

The incident occurred at a section of the lake known as "The Cliffs," located along the eastern shoreline. Reports indicate that a group of individuals was swimming in the area when one member jumped from a large rock formation and failed to resurface.

Search efforts began immediately upon the arrival of deputies and specialized units.
