It takes a true heart of a beast to conquer anything even after surviving the paroles of war. Years after retirement Odin and his human Captain James have one more dangerous adventure. When James suffers a massive heart attack all he can think about is leaving a life for his beloved friend. Odin isn’t about to let James give up though even through the rugged Alaskan terrain.
Ultimately Heart of a Beast is a survival story about the unique bond between man and beast. Done with a very small cast including well known actor Brad Pitt who does an exceptional job capturing that relationship. JK Simmons and Anna Lambe add and extra element to the adventure in ways that add that extra level of suspense and a bit of heartwarming nature. Additionally the dog that portrayed Odin was one of 4 that they used and was in fact a skillfully trained search and rescue dog as his skills on the screen showed that dedication. It uniquely highlights the thousands of combat dogs that are in those situations and it also is a painful reminder that PTSD is very condition that affects both humans and animals in very much the same way.
Heart of the Beast came out in theaters September 25 and is currently playing in one near you.
