It’s Cookie season as Girl Scouts young and old and of all shapes and sizes delve into the business entrepreneurship that has taken America by storm for well over 100 years.

Cookie Queens explores the fun and challenges that come as girls try to be number one in their troop. The documentary shows selling cookies by girls from Daisy’s all the way through Cadettes and seniors and one thing holds true and that is ultimately the long lasting friendships made by being a Girl Scout.

Additionally the producers use a number of stock archival footage including showing the founder herself Juliette Low, though not specifically named in the documentary. anyone who was or is a Girl Scout will immediately know the reference.

That being said Cookie Queens is a heartfelt documentary that will have audiences welling up with the simplistic values that are instilled into all Girl Scouts from a very young age. That is to try to serve God in her country, help people at all times and live the Girl Scout way.

Cookie Queens came out in theaters August 7 and is currently playing in limited theaters near you.
