Ashland Police Seek Surveillance Video Following Vehicle Larcenies

ASHLAND, Va. — The Ashland Police Department is asking residents in the areas surrounding Misty Pines Apartments and Arlington Square Apartments on Arlington Street to review security footage following reported larcenies from parked vehicles.
Police are seeking video showing any suspicious activity between 7p.m. on July 24 and 7a.m. on July 25. Residents with doorbell cameras, security systems or other surveillance equipment that may have captured activity around parking areas, sidewalks, driveways or nearby streets are encouraged to review their recordings and share any potentially relevant footage with investigators.
The department has not publicly released details regarding the number of vehicles involved, what property may have been stolen or whether a suspect has been identified. It is also unclear whether the reported larcenies are believed to be connected.
The request for surveillance footage indicates investigators are working to establish a timeline of events and identify individuals or vehicles that may have been in the area during the overnight hours.
Residents are reminded to secure their vehicles and avoid leaving valuables visible inside unattended cars. Surveillance footage from nearby homes and businesses can also be valuable in helping law enforcement investigate property crimes.
As of publication, no additional publicly available reports were found specifically detailing the July 24-25 incidents at Misty Pines Apartments or Arlington Square Apartments. Previous Ashland Police reports have documented vehicle break-ins in other parts of the town, but there is currently no public information connecting those incidents to the latest reports.
Anyone with relevant surveillance footage or information is encouraged to contact the Ashland Police Department.
