Highway 55 closures impacting access to Indiana Avenue

CALDWELL, Idaho — The intersection of State Highway 55 and Indiana Avenue will close tonight at 10 p.m. and reopen Oct. 5 at 5 a.m. Indiana Avenue north of the intersection remains closed until Oct. 10.

Until Oct. 10, traffic must enter Indiana Avenue from Moss Street or Homedale Road.

The Idaho Transportation Department said this will allow utility installation under the highway and is part of a larger project to "improve safety and capacity along SH-55."

Additional improvements for the project are set to include "additional lanes of traffic, detached pedestrian and bicycle pathways and an undercrossing near 10th Avenue."

During the closure, ITD said, "Highway traffic is encouraged to use Interstate 84, State Highway 19 and U.S. Highway 95 as a detour."
