"Verity" REVIEW

Published Oct 4, 2026, 5:01 AM

When world renowned writer, Verity’s health takes a down spiraling turn to the worst and causes her to be incapacitated in bed, her husband enlists a ghost rider to finish her latest work of art. Reading her manuscript, the writer soon discovers the truth as she gets in deep with the husband and realizes Verity isn’t who she says she is and what’s worse is the secret of their daughter’s death is uncovered. Now it’s up to the two of them to make it look like an accident to protect the young boy in the mix. The only question is what is the real truth. And is it in fact just the great work of fiction by an exceptional writer and who is really to fear.

Colleen Hoover's psychological crime drama will bring new definition to the writings of a great villain. She does an outstanding job in helping to produce her own novel by the same name.

The film stars the outstanding acting of Anne Hathaway who is definitely at the top of her A-game with yet another blockbuster worthy hit that will have audiences reeling in the emotion portrayed on the big screen. Additionally Dakota Johnson has her own sloth slaying skills that she cunning uses to dissect the story and ultimately cling for the real truth. In a lot of way she uses techniques developed in the Fifty Shades saga to ultimately set herself free. Finally Josh Hartnett pulls out the “Trap” as he once again portrays someone who appears to be a victim but ultimately it leaves the audience to try to disseminate the real truth behind the masterminded writing.

Varity came out in theaters October 1 and is currently playing in a theater near you.
