Robert Patterson steps into an iconic role of journalist Chris Hanson who made the "How To Catch A Predator"series thrive nearly 20 years ago.
A24's Primetime captures both the onscreen presence as well as what happened when the cameras were off in this action packed Journalistic crime documentary that will have audiences raveling on the works behind the master program that we all ran to at that 8-11pm hour.
Patterson truly has a unique way of emboding that of Hanson, from his emotions on screen and off as well as how suave and cunning he was when "catching the predator". Additionally the film also stars Skyler Gisondo as Dan Plumb, one of the "actors" posing as the teen in the plot to bring down the predator, who equally does a good job of bringing such a outrageous scandal to light for all to see. Playing that of a 13 year old boy, Gisondo did a good job of portraying the actor who played the kid.
Additionally the cast included Phoebe Bridgers, Merritt Wever, Matthew Maher, Bokeem Woodbine and Alex Winter, as supporting cast to the controversial portrayal of the show as each one equally emobodys and brings out important key aspects of what happened behnd the scenes.
All in all, Primetime is truly another Journalistic movie to add to any aspiring Journalist's list of great to see and learn from. It contains action, drama and great production value that anyone of the craft will revel in, right down to the awesome performances by both Patterson and Gisondo as well as the entire casting ensemble.
Primetime came out in theaters September 25th and is currently playing in one near you. See it and relive the horror that ultimately made Primetime what it is today.
