Uruguayan Government Agencies Deliver 42 Homes to Los Eucaliptus, Maldonado
The Uruguayan Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning (MVOT) recently delivered 42 homes to the Los Eucaliptus neighborhood of Maldonado. It is a part of a plan that features over 174 homes, as well as housing improvements, and infrastructure for 1,840 people.
A broader plan that includes urban infrastructure projects, sanitation, roads, drinking water and electricity networks is underway. The homes were built by the National Directorate of Social and Urban Integration (DINISU) via the Neighborhood Improvement Program.

This phase of the Los Eucaliptus initiative is being carried out in coordination with the Maldonado Municipality.
Many officials attended the delivery ceremony, including, the Minister of Housing and Territorial Planning, Tamara Paseyro; the Mayor of Maldonado, Miguel Abella; the National Director of Social and Urban Integration, Pablo Cresci; the Director of Housing for the Maldonado Municipality, Alejandro Lussich; and the Coordinator of the Neighborhood Improvement Program, Martín Delgado.
Uruguay offers extensive social programs to its citizens. This recent delivery is an example of the government creating value for its citizens.
