Jasper County Sheriff’s Office Opens Registration for Fall Citizens Police Academy

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office has opened registration for its fall Citizens Police Academy.
The announcement was posted August 11 and invites members of the community to apply for the program.
The Citizens Police Academy is an eight-week program with weekly sessions led by members of the Sheriff’s Office. Participants can learn about different areas of law enforcement, including patrol operations, criminal investigations, the K-9 unit, traffic enforcement, school resource officers and detention center operations.
Participants also have the opportunity to ask questions, take part in discussions and see demonstrations as they learn more about how the Sheriff’s Office operates.
The program is designed to help residents better understand the responsibilities and daily work of local law enforcement while building stronger relationships between the Sheriff’s Office and the community.
