"Tony" REVIEW

Anthony Bourdine has inspirations of writing a book. The problem is he doesn’t know exactly where to start. When he applies for a writing fellowship he is hoping to use that money for a trip to New York but things don’t go exactly according to plans. Now he is living in a hammock of a restaurant owner working for free in his restaurant to get away from his clingy family who has no idea. Not to mention lying to the girl from high school who he has a major crush on. Something is bound to go wrong.

What he doesn’t realize is that chance meeting at Cape cod is exactly what he needs to launch his future if only he can stop being the party boy college guy.

Based on a true story, Tony adequately portrays that as Now You See Me’s Dominic Sessa portrays that of Anthony in a way that is stunning. You instantly have a heart for the party boy as you begin to route for his Change. Equally the restaurant owner played by Above and Below’s Antonio Banderas provides a unique character of role model as he essentially takes Tony under his wing to show him the restaurant business. The chemistry between the two is exceptional as well as when the love interest is thrown in with The Running Man’s Emilia Jones.

All in all at an hour 44 minute run time it’s a high impact movie that will have you one the edge of your seat even knowing the true story, there is still no telling how the writers are going to show it on the big a screen.

Tony came out in theaters August 7 and is currently showing in limited ones near you.
