Teen dies following drowning in Spokane River in Post Falls

The Post Falls Police Department received reports of a possible drowning in the Spokane River at approximately 9:30 p.m. Saturday. A 13-year-old boy had reportedly been swimming across the river and went missing. Responding agencies searched the area, and the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team found the teen in the water. After life-saving measures were attempted, he was transported to Kootenai Health, where he was pronounced dead. The police department expressed condolences to the boy’s family, loved ones, and others affected by the incident.
