"Young Washington" REVIEW

Angel Studios brings history to life on America's 250th birthday with the story of founding father, George Washington. Young Washington follows the true story from a young boy who must quit school to take care of his family farm when his father passes away from illness. It is that determination to want to learn and become a British gentleman that drives Washington's passion for wanting to serve in the Queen's army to inevitably becoming the commander of the first Virginian militia that starts the begining of the American Revolution.

The powerful war driven film stars William Franklyn- Miller who does a fabulous job portraying such as iconic character. His emotional connection to the character makes it thrive on the screen for people even who may not be history buffs to be albe to relate to him on a personal level. Additionally there are several well know actors including Mary Louise- Parker who plays Washington's mother, Mary and equally captures that sort of power and determination as the mother of one of the greatest founding fathers.

Finally Joel David Smallbone plays William Fairfax, Kelsey Grammer plays Lord Fairfax, Ben Kingley plays Robert Dinwiddle and Andy Serkis plays General Braddock to further bring history to life in a way that no other studio has done so before.

Young Washington, with a PG 13 rating is certainly a must see for all Americans, especially ones who still remember the foundation that our country was built on. The rating is simply put for the graphic war scenes, but even with children present, it might be good for them to watch as well as it is truly history in it's purest form. It's a conversation that might be different for all parents, and is worth having with children who are interested in American history. Furthermore it's Angel Studios hope to inspire the nation to come back to those principles especially as we are trying to chose the best people to lead our great country.
