Lake County Motorcycle Crash Leaves Two Critically Injured; Alcohol Suspected
LAKE COUNTY, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious two-person motorcycle crash that occurred Monday evening in Lake County, leaving one rider with life-threatening injuries.
The incident took place near the intersection of State Route 2 and North Ridge Road on Monday, April 27, at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Troopers say the operator of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle lost control of the bike and drifted off the right side of the roadway, where the motorcycle struck a roadside ditch and embankment.
Neither the driver nor the passenger was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to the patrol. Investigators believe alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the incident.

The driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was initially transported to University Hospital TriPoint Medical Center in Concord before being airlifted to University Hospital Cleveland Medical Center via UH AirMed for advanced care.
The passenger sustained serious injuries and was transported separately to MetroHealth Main Campus in Cleveland for treatment.
The investigation remains ongoing. No further details have been released at this time.
