"Elijah Peel" REVIEW

It’s the unbelievable story inspired by the true events of a rock star who goes from top of the world with drugs, women and partying to having a near death experience that rocks his life as he discovers what is really important through the unlikely meeting of an 8 year old “angel”. It’s a meeting that will leave you in suspense and tears at the heartfelt film on the screen.
The film stars some powerful actors including Gods Not dead’s Kevin Sorbo as the manager who does an outstanding job supporting and standing next to his client Elijah Peel. Similar to the professor in his previous work Sorbo uses the same charm of being a smug businessman who just wants his clients success as he subtly transforms as Elijah additionally does the same with his writing.
Equally there are a few up and coming actors that provide equally powerful roles including Robert Malcolm Cumming who has a unique style combining dark comedy with drama. He embraces the reformed rock star role in such a way that you have to see to believe. Equally up and coming star Evelyn Grace Kite as Jessica, the young girl with the cancer diagnosis, does a great job of showing the child like faith in the mist of such a life threatening diagnosis. Her performance will instantly send tears to your eyes just with her single proclamation that “Jesus loves you”. Finally the cast is rounded out by two very minor and yet very equally important characters in that of April Billingsley as Jessica’s strong willed protective mother as well as the nurse that aids in Eli’s recovery and ultimately his journey to reconcilable faith that is Princess Elmore.
All in all, Elijah Peel is certainly the feel good movie of the summer that will cause audiences to see their faith for what it truly is. produced by Duck Dynasty’s Willie and Codie Robertson it’s a movie with a deeper message for ones who wish to know the truth.
“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”
