Real names, real accountability

Every story carries a byline — the person or publication that published it. Authors decide what to cover and what to publish, and they're accountable for their work. My Local Press is the platform; the journalism belongs to the people who make it.

Trust here is earned through vouching. Contributors get "vouched for" by people willing to put their own reputation behind them, and that credibility follows their work. What rises in the community rises because people stood behind it.

Dates and updates

Every story shows when it was published, and revisions carry an honest modification date under the hood. We don't fake freshness — dates mean what they say, including on archival work republished with its original publication date.

Corrections

Authors correct their own work, and corrections update the story where it lives. If something looks wrong, flag it through the feedback form and we'll route it to the author.

AI and the journalist

My Local Press includes AI-powered creation tools, and we're open about that — AI is how a small team puts capable publishing tools in the hands of people who actually cover their communities. But the journalist is the final curator: what's worth covering, what gets published, and what it says are their calls, and their name is on it.
