Video of ‘Fake’ Agency DG Confronting Gbajabiamila Resurfaces
A video featuring Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, the man at the centre of the alleged ₦1.3 billion "ghost agency" scandal, has resurfaced online, further fueling public debate over the controversial case involving the purported **Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).

The video, recorded during a press briefing in late June, shows Adeyemi defending his claim that the council was a legitimate government body while challenging statements from the Presidency and the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, which insist that the agency was never legally established.

During the briefing, Adeyemi questioned how an agency described by the Presidency as non-existent could have appeared in official federal budget documents. He argued that the national budget undergoes several stages of drafting, executive review, and legislative approval, making the inclusion of the agency difficult to explain if it truly had no legal existence.
Adeyemi also claimed that the agency operated official accounts with the Central Bank of Nigeria and alleged that Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila demanded a substantial portion of the council's proposed take-off grant—an allegation that has been firmly denied by the Presidency.

The Federal Government maintains that the PFIPC has no legal backing and accuses Adeyemi of forging official documents, including appointment letters purportedly signed by senior government officials, to present himself as the Director-General of the council. Authorities also allege that he operated from an office within the Federal Secretariat in Abuja while holding meetings with government officials, diplomats, investors, and members of the public under the guise of a legitimate government agency.
The controversy deepened after reports revealed that an entity listed in the 2026 Appropriation Act as the Presidential Economic Advisory Council/Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council received more than ₦1.3 billion in budgetary allocations, triggering widespread public scrutiny over Nigeria's budget process.
Adeyemi is currently facing an eight-count charge before the Federal High Court in Abuja, including allegations of forgery, impersonation, false personation, and operating a fictitious government agency. The resurfaced video has renewed public interest in the case as investigations and court proceedings continue.
