Jasper County Selects Firm to Manage $94 Million Greenbelt Program
- Jasper County has selected a South Carolina law firm to help manage its new $94 million Greenbelt Program focused on conservation and protecting the county’s natural resources.
- The county expects the first round of Greenbelt applications to open in October, with the program supporting land conservation, agricultural areas and natural resources.
Jasper County has chosen Wyche, P.A. to serve as the Greenbelt Program Manager for its new $94 million conservation fund.
The program comes from a transportation sales and use tax approved by Jasper County voters in November 2024.
Wyche, P.A. will help administer the program and work with conservation experts on efforts to protect land and natural resources.
The manager will be responsible for developing application scoring criteria, operating procedures and a compliance manual. The firm will also assist with applications, conservation easements and partnerships with conservation organizations.
Jasper County estimates the program will generate about $1.8 million in revenue during its first year.
The county expects the first phase of Greenbelt applications to open in October 2026.
The program is designed to support conservation of land and natural resources, agricultural and heritage landscapes, greenspace and scenic corridors throughout Jasper County. (jaspercountysc.gov)
