New flight to Puerto Rico coming to John Glenn Columbus in February 2027
John Glenn Columbus International Airport is set to welcome a new nonstop flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico, with Southwest Airlines launching the route on Feb. 13, 2027, the Columbus Regional Airport Authority announced.
The new service fills a notable gap in the airport's offerings. Airport Authority President and CEO Daren Griffin said in a June 4 press release that San Juan has long been one of Columbus' most sought-after unserved destinations.

"We are grateful to Southwest Airlines for introducing this nonstop service starting in February — just in time for midwinter getaways," Griffin said.
The addition of the San Juan route is a significant win for Central Ohio travelers, who previously had to connect through other hubs to reach Puerto Rico. With the launch timed to coincide with peak winter travel season, the flight is expected to be popular among residents looking to escape the cold for the Caribbean island's beaches, culture, and cuisine.
