Puttshack Brings Tech-Infused Mini Golf to Polaris in First Ohio Location
Columbus has a new spot for competitive socializing: Puttshack, the tech-driven indoor mini golf and dining chain, opened its first Ohio location this year at The Galaxy at Polaris, giving central Ohio a high-energy new option for date nights, birthdays, and office outings just north of downtown.
Opening day and location
Puttshack Columbus opened to the public at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 8870 Galaxy Way, inside The Galaxy at Polaris — a roughly 30-acre retail, dining, and entertainment development built on the former site of the Polaris Amphitheater. The venue sits next to fellow competitive-socializing destination Topgolf. The Columbus opening marked Puttshack's 20th location in the United States and 24th worldwide.
"Columbus continues to grow as a destination for dining and entertainment, making it a natural fit for Puttshack," Puttshack CEO David Bagley said in the company's announcement.
What's inside
The 12,529-square-foot venue features two tech-driven nine-hole mini golf courses — 18 holes total — powered by Puttshack's proprietary Trackaball technology, which automatically tracks scores and layers interactive gameplay into each hole, eliminating the need for paper scorecards. The space also includes three "Challenge Holes," private suites with rotating competitive games and dedicated table service, making them a popular option for group events and corporate outings.
Food and drink
Beyond the golf, Puttshack Columbus offers a full food and beverage menu with more than 50 items, built around what the company describes as nostalgic favorites with a modern twist. Menu highlights include five varieties of wings, a Signature Skirted Cheeseburger topped with a crispy cheese halo, loaded birria nachos, burgers, and flatbreads, alongside signature hand-crafted cocktails, beer, wine, and nonalcoholic options. The venue also runs weekday happy hour specials.
A long time coming
Puttshack Columbus was first announced back in 2023, with an initially expected opening in late 2024 before ultimately debuting in May 2026. Franz Geiger, managing director at NP Limited Partnership, the developer behind The Galaxy at Polaris, said at the time the goal was to fill the development with "truly unique and desirable destinations," calling Puttshack a strong fit for the district's broader entertainment ambitions.
