Resident Evil REBORN
When a mail carrier gets a refrigerated package to deliver to a nearby hospital, it seems a simple life changing mission to save someone’s life. What he doesn’t realize is it will ultimately save everyone as he holds the ultimate cure against the disease that has turned mankind into mutants. The question is can he succeed or will the sickness overtake him too.
Director Zack Creggor brings a new horror twist to an iconic Japanese horror video game and the result will have you jumping out of your seats at the subtle jump scares while laughing hysterically at the dumbness of the characters running on the screen.
The film stars Weapons Austin Abrams who is on the run from the first scene of trying to deliver the package and get home to his girl. all in all, he does a great job of portraying the fear that he inevitably felt while being chased by something clearly not human.
Additionally the film stars actors including Zach Cherry, Kali Reis and Paul Walter Heiser in smaller secondary roles that create an additional level of fear; that is who will live and who will be taken out by the monsters from the game.
Resident Evil is rated R as nearly every other word said is a four letter word curse word. Additionally the violence portrayed is certainly for a more adult cast but for one that loves horror on screen it is one to see. Not as strong as a story as the original but still Creggor gave it his old college try to recreate such an iconic Franchise.
Resident Evil came out in theaters September 18 and is currently playing in one near you.
