"Runner" REVIEW
It’s a race to see who is tough enough to get a rare liver and save the life of someone they hold special. When ex navy seal, Hank Malone is given a specific address to drop of the medical organ, he quickly learns the truth, that a little girls life is at risk if he doesn’t get in to her in the children’s hospital. The problem is the others are cartel who will work for all it takes to get the organ for his mother, a powerful drug lord who needs its herself. now it’s a fight ultimately to the death in order to get the liver to the right person before it’s ultimately too late.
Runner is an action packed, Angel Studios film that will have audiences on the edge of their seats.
The film stars Alan Ritchson who gives a draw dropping performance next to his unlikely partner, Owen Wilson who has the ultimate control over the organ. Both actors do an outstanding job with their unlikely partnership.
Equally Rodrigo Santoro did an equally exceptional job of stepping into that role of drug cartel as he didn’t make it evident of his ultimate mission until much later in the movie. It kind of makes it a mystery what is really happening and gives a very heartfelt look into a sensitive side of the cartels as a whole
Finally the film is completely with Leila George as the worried mom, Kate Box as the surgeon and Peta Sergeant as the nurse who has a deeper connection to the dark side of the cartel. All of these women do a great job as well with delving deep into their roles of trying to keep the child alive.
All in all, Runner came out in theaters September 11 and is currently playing in one near you. See it before you lose out on the opportunity.
