CHELSEA'S SECOND HALF RESURGENCE TAMED MANCHESTER UNITED.
In an enthralling affair, Chelsea manager's tactical ingenuity made sure of three valuable points, and a long_expected clean sheet for Chelsea in yesterday's encounter between chelsea and Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.
Manchester United threw everything at Chelsea during the first half, they had good chances to put the game beyond the reach of Chelsea, as early as the first half, but were undoned by erratic finishing and a goalkeeping brilliance from young Belgian Mike Penders, who was making just his second ever Epl start against Manchester United.
Manchester United's Matheus Cunha had a goal disallowed by VAR, but that was the closest they got themselves a sniff at Chelsea's goal all game. In the second half, Chelsea came out flying with a great individualistic goal from Morgan Rogers, he danced his way through United's haplessly stagnant defense to put Chelsea ahead early in the second half.
And to further compound Manchester United's woes, Lisandro Martinez got himself sent off after having a ugly go at Chelsea's French defender Wes Fofana, minutes after getting yellow carded, and Cole Palmer made no mistake from the ensueing spot kick to double Chelsea's advantage. Estevao, who was making his first start of the season in the premier league_ having thoroughly enjoyed himself with the way he terrorized and ran rings around United's defense, had two goals chalked off for offside, and goalkeeper Mike Penders made a good reactionary fingertip save to keep off Bryan Mbeumo's scorching shot, to make sure of Chelsea's win and secure a much_awaited clean sheet.
The win ensures Chelsea's standing at fourth on the table, while Manchester United are officially in a relegation dogfight.
