Lush was founded in 1995 by six passionate co-founders: Mo Constantine, Mark Constantine, Rowena Bird, Helen Ambrosen, Liz Bennett, and Paul Greeves. Together, they brought a bold vision for ethical, handmade cosmetics to life — one that would go on to reshape the beauty industry and build a loyal following around the world.

The company emerged from the ashes of a previous venture called Cosmetics To Go, a mail-order business that had been a massive success before collapsing under the weight of over-trading and a devastating flood. Rather than walk away, the same determined team channeled their experience and creativity into a fresh start — and Lush was born.

Today, Lush is 10% employee-owned, a reflection of the company's deep commitment to the people who make it what it is. Employees aren't just workers — they are the heart and soul of the business, driving the brand's values of sustainability, transparency, and community from the ground up.
