Chainsaw Heist at Dawn: Deputies Hunt Thieves Who Cleared Shelves at West Palm Lowe's
WEST PALM BEACH — Detectives are seeking the public's assistance after two men orchestrated a brazen early-morning theft, making off with multiple chainsaws from a West Palm Beach home improvement store, authorities said.
The incident unfolded at approximately 7:52 a.m. on December 21, 2025, at the Lowe's store located in the 4700 block of Okeechobee Boulevard, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. Surveillance footage captured two unidentified males entering the store, methodically selecting several chainsaws from the shelves, and departing without rendering payment.

Investigators report the suspects fled the scene in an older-model Lexus SUV, vanishing before store personnel could intervene. While no injuries were sustained during the theft, the incident resulted in substantial financial losses for the business.
Detectives have not yet released detailed descriptions of the suspects but are conducting a thorough review of surveillance video and tracking the stolen merchandise through serial numbers and retail databases. Authorities believe the pair may be linked to a series of similar retail thefts throughout the area.
Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspects or the vehicle involved is strongly urged to contact Detective Matt Stone at StoneM@PBSO.org. Anonymous tips may also be submitted through Palm Beach County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS (8477) or online at www.crimestopperspbc.com.
Law enforcement officials emphasize that even seemingly minor details — such as recognizing the vehicle, recalling suspicious activity in the area that morning, or knowledge of individuals attempting to sell chainsaws — could prove crucial in solving the case and preventing future thefts.
