There's a quiet confidence to the way Caracas Bakery moves through Miami. No splashy announcements, no gimmicks — just really good bread, and a knack for finding the right room.

The latest room is inside the Harbour Club at 1766 Bay Rd., tucked into Miami Beach's Sunset Harbour neighborhood, where the bakery is opening this week in one of the more unexpected pairings the city's food scene has seen in a while.

Founded by Jesús Brazón, Caracas Bakery earned its following the old-fashioned way — croissant by croissant, cachito by cachito — first in Doral, then in Miami's MiMo district, then Coral Gables. Each location carried the same warmth, the same golden pastry cases, the same sense that someone actually cared about what they were putting in front of you.

The Harbour Club is a different kind of place. It's a members-only social club, home to a'Riva, the upscale Italian-Mediterranean restaurant that opened in 2024 and holds court in the evenings. Caracas Bakery will take over the first floor during the day — a contrast that somehow makes perfect sense.

"Caracas Bakery has built something truly special in Miami," said Harbour Club founder James Julius. "Bringing that energy into the space during the day allows us to expand our vision of being a place for the neighborhood at every hour, while also enhancing the experience for our Harbour Club members."

Mornings will look familiar to regulars: croissant breakfast sandwiches, avocado and salmon toasts, yogurt bowls, frittatas, and the kind of breakfast platters that make it easy to stay longer than you planned.

Lunch, though, is where things get interesting. Brazón is introducing Casa Caracas — a new concept layered on top of the bakery's identity, with a menu built around grilled piri piri chicken, garlic-and-lemon sautéed prawns, hanger steak, pasta, salads, and sides. It's the kind of midday spread that doesn't rush you anywhere.

"From day one, Caracas Bakery was never just about bread — it's about building a place people feel part of," Brazón said. "Opening here and bringing Casa Caracas into it lets us grow without losing what we are, while being part of a neighborhood we've always respected."
