Portraits, Landscapes, and Moving Sculptures
What's Your Story and Song?
There are thousands of communities in Colorado. And they are not only based on geography, but also on the content of the character of the people who are part of the organization of who they are, what they do, when they do it, and where. The why of the matter is not always clear. In my work as a journalist, singer-songwriter, and guitarist, I am a community servant-leader to many communities. And now, in my role as Chief Executive Officer of national and local community organizations, it is also my duty to pull these organizations together to pool resources and take responsibility for communications on the ecology, economics, education, and responsible entrepreneurship in the communities we serve, for All Generations and All Seasons.
CREATE Daily
There is no secret to success here. I do not have a secret sauce for addressing and working on the challenges that face any one community. My work is in studying and telling the stories and songs of our past, present, and future generations. This involves understanding current copyright laws. From Agriculture to Culture, I can tell and retell the stories and record the songs from 1932 and before. And I can write the stories and songs from 1932 to 2026 without financial penalty. The good news is that from 1932 to 2026 there are some wonderful stories and songs in the books and on digital recordings. At Sound Century, we have documented sheet music, broadcasts, audiobooks, concerts, and studio recordings. We are teaching future generations to do so through Sound Century Academy of Recording Arts and Broadcasting. In addition, we are also working on the historical preservation of places and buildings through a new division, Sound Century Historic Organization for Office and Land (SCHOOL).

Unique Offerings
Through scheduling, skills, and stewardship, we take the stories and songs we create and communicate them through writing, recording, and filming interviews, performances, speeches, audiobooks, concerts, and quintessential presentations. These include show-and-tell, taste-and-smell, and touch-and-hands-on presentations that bring out the dimensions in each presentation.

Collaborations
Through community, we work with Parks and Recreation, Educational, Arts and Media, Travel and Transportation groups, and entrepreneurial organizations and groups, including community centers, youth centers, senior centers, schools and continuing education institutes, art and performing arts centers, and local businesses, incubators, and entrepreneurs.

Cultivation of Ideas
Every day, my teams circle up to discuss, cultivate, and record new ideas and ask the right questions about what kind of development and timeline a product or service rollout should have, and, like Shark Tank, how it can benefit the community as a business. This addresses local economic, ecological, educational, and entrepreneurial challenges in an hour or two each day.

Endeavors
At the end of the cultivation sessions, we begin the endeavor sessions. We all have projects and create daily tasks in the Beattie Create Studios. We work on spots, recordings, voice work, radio programs, and indexing songs in the public domain, and make assignments.
Service
Toward the end of the day, we serve each other and others in our community. Sometimes it is just taking a walk and visiting with neighbors or other businesses. Other times, it is helping someone with yard work or driving someone to an appointment. It is what we like to call "Neighboring." This can be, and is, done in big cities and small towns.
Stoking the Soul and Spirit
Throughout the day, it is important to stoke the soul work and ignite the creative spirit in each of us. I need it, and you need it. It is a good reminder, and it raises the quality of life at home, at work, and in community. I began this daily exercise by talking about different communities. It could be a neighborhood of mixed-use homes where people also work. I call these Home-Work Communities. It could also be a hobby, sport, or common interest. There are academic communities, travel club communities, arts and culture communities, and faith communities. Communities are where there are common interests and unity.
All Generations for All Seasons
In recent weeks, I have been asked to head certain groups and a foundation. When I address members or colleagues, I am thinking about the common unity that we share. And then I try to be intentional about integrating those common interests of hope, peace, love, and joy at home, at work, and in community. We call this our CORE Group: Community Organizations for Responsible Economics, Ecology, Education, and Entrepreneurship. We are responsible for the challenges we face by scheduling, sharing our skills, and being good stewards of our economics, ecology, education, and entrepreneurship. At Leadon Family Foundation, Sound Century Academy, or Parks and Recreation, we would like to help you in Launching Well, Learning Well, and Landing Well — the best ways to Live Well.
