Turn-Lane Construction Begins on 11E in Greeneville, Traffic Delays Expected

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. — Motorists traveling along U.S. 11E / Andrew Johnson Highway in Greeneville should prepare for traffic delays as construction begins Wednesday, October 14, to extend left-turn lanes at Rufe Taylor Road.

According to reports from local television stations, the Town of Greeneville is undertaking the project to accommodate heavier traffic patterns and improve turning access at the intersection.

Construction is scheduled on weekdays from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. One lane in each direction will be closed between Crockett Crossing / Erwin Highway, near Waffle House and McDonald's, and Harlan Street, near Walmart.

The work is expected to continue through the week of November 9, weather and construction conditions permitting.

Drivers are encouraged to slow down, watch for construction crews and lane changes, and allow extra time when traveling through the area.

Motorists should use caution and remain alert as work continues along this busy Greeneville corridor.
