Construction has officially commenced on a new mixed-use residential development at 1680 Alton Road, situated at the prominent corner of Alton Road and Lincoln Road in Miami Beach, Florida — marking a significant shift in the vision for one of the city's most closely watched development sites.

The project, now known as The Alton, is being led by Infinity Collective, which acquired the property in September 2025 for $28.2 million through a deed-in-lieu-of-foreclosure from developer Michael Shvo. The plan called for approximately 170,000 square feet of Class A office space, 17,000 square feet of retail, and just five ultra-luxury residences — all designed by the globally renowned architecture firm Foster + Partners.

However, Infinity Collective has pivoted the project toward a predominantly residential focus, reflecting broader market trends that have seen demand for office space soften in the post-pandemic era while demand for high-end Miami Beach housing remains strong. The new development will incorporate both residential units and retail space, replacing the large office component that defined the original proposal.
