A CORE Mindset - 7 Ways to Quit Your Job and Start Working
A CORE Mindset — "It changed my life when I changed my mind." How creating value for others allows me to leave a lasting orchard of ideas. When I stopped looking for a job and continued my work as a leader, writer, speaker, songwriter, and communicator, I ceased to be an employee and became an entrepreneur. When I stopped guarding my intellectual property and began sharing my creative ideas and taking responsibility for offering opportunities to people, I planted a seed and nurtured growth. I contributed to a perennial orchard that creates, produces, and shares with generations to come.
1. Leadon Family Foundation will start a speakers/consulting service and conduct workshops on improving your service, starting your business, and performance-based pay. We will book our speakers at chapter gatherings, job centers, and job fairs, with a prerequisite for Leadon University students to start and sustain at least two businesses that help the communities they serve. Send your interest and bio to richardarnoldstudios@gmail.com.

2. Leadon Family Foundation will start an independent media publishing branch with mylocalpress.com at each chapter. Writers, producers, and editors can apply to become members and learn how to gather news, write copy, and broadcast stories through the CORE Respondents program in all 50 states. They are responsible for getting subscribers and support, advertising, and sponsors, and for building their own self-sustaining practice. Richard Arnold Beattie will be responsible for training and coaching all CORE Respondents. Videographers, photographers, broadcast journalists, and voice professionals can send a query to soundcenturyoriginals@gmail.com.
3. Sound Century — Auditions are ongoing for session musicians for recording projects based on traditional folk music and scores in the public domain. These include jazz, musical theater, country, folk, gospel, and hymns. We are auditioning session singers, keyboardists, and pianists to work on library recordings related to our library scores and original music. Please send digital recordings and a bio/resume to soundcenturyoriginals@gmail.com.

As a leader for several community organizations in recreation, education, arts, travel/transportation, and entrepreneurship, I have been studying the difference between employment (through Indeed and ZipRecruiter) and the CORE calling of individuals to grow where they are planted, develop the skills they are naturally given and nurtured in, and match their disposition, nature/nurture, and aptitude with the needs of the communities they serve. So many of our communities face challenges in economics, ecology, and education, and the solutions can be found through responsible entrepreneurship.
Taking Responsibility for Starting Something Good
I have always known what I was going to do and what my Soul Work is, and what it boils down to is communication. As a trained journalist, artist, and musician, I have adapted my work to areas that needed my services: health care, presentations, education, recreation, arts, travel, and entrepreneurial endeavors. Media, marketing, acting, voice work and singing, publishing, and broadcasting have been part of my communications practice for over 56 years. When I have been involved in the communities I serve, the work has been most satisfying. Most of my career has been performance-based pay — cultivating support, creating, producing, and distributing product, and advertising. In community work, sponsorship and membership have been key factors in my revenue. That is part of being responsible for my personal and local economy.
Community Profiles
Every week, on a Wednesday or Thursday, I cultivate a number of entrepreneurial opportunities, training and mentorship, licensing, and investments. None of these are franchises. With Leadon Family Foundation, Sound Century Academy of Recording Arts and Broadcasting, and Valley Parks and Recreation, we do not have employees — we run on entrepreneurship and mentorship. You don't need a job; you need to do the work you are called to.
