Construction on John Glenn International Airport's highly anticipated new terminal is progressing steadily, bringing Columbus one step closer to a transformed travel experience.

The project represents more than a building upgrade—it's a complete reimagining of air travel for Central Ohio. Designed to accommodate 13 million passengers annually, the new terminal will feature 36 high-efficiency gates, including two international gates with onsite customs facilities.

A Smoother Journey Through Security

Travelers will benefit from a single centralized TSA checkpoint featuring 12 screening lanes, designed to reduce wait times and streamline the security process. Gate waiting areas will be 50% larger than current hold rooms, giving passengers more breathing room before boarding.

Dining, Shopping & The Central Market

The terminal's centerpiece will be The Central Market, offering stunning views of the airfield and Columbus skyline. Expanded concessions will provide more dining and retail options than ever before.

Amenities for Every Traveler

The new terminal prioritizes accessibility and comfort with more than 4,300 charging stations, dedicated wellness and nursing rooms, a sensory room for neurodivergent travelers, animal relief areas, universal changing stations, a multifaith reflection room, and a USO lounge for military personnel.

Getting There Gets Easier

A pedestrian bridge will connect the terminal directly to the Rental Car Center and a new 5,000-space parking garage featuring 100 EV charging stations.

Built With Sustainability in Mind

Energy-efficient systems, smart water and waste management, natural lighting, and green spaces underscore the airport's commitment to environmental responsibility.

Stay tuned for updates as construction continues on this landmark project for the Columbus region.
