Stellar Standard: Six Yellow Jackets Earn All-Conference Honors
By Thomas Martin Sr.
Excellence is not a singular act; it is a habit forged over long hours in the gymnasium, late nights over textbooks, and a persistent commitment to serving the community. That dedication was put on full display as six standout student-athletes—Jamilah Ausborne, Ashia Wall, Colbie Bostic, Carlie Bostic, Leah Gunderman, and Skylar Henderson—were officially named to the All-Conference Team.
These six honors represent far more than individual athletic talent. They reflect the culture of discipline, teamwork, and resilience being built right here in Lexington.
Classroom, Court, and Community
In high school athletics, the scoreboard tells only part of the story. While these athletes have proven themselves to be elite competitors on the court, their achievements in the classroom and their engagement throughout the Lexington community are what truly set them apart.
Holding all-conference postseason recognition while balancing rigorous academic courseloads speaks to their maturity, time management, and character. It is inspiring to watch our future leaders of America setting such a strong example for the younger generation of local athletes following in their footsteps.
Meet the Honorees
Jamilah Ausborne | Middle Blocker / Outside Hitter
A dynamic front-court force, Ausborne’s athleticism and net presence have been instrumental in dictating the tempo of matches. Her ability to transition rapidly from defense to offense makes her one of the most versatile threats in the conference.
Ashia Wall | Setter / Defensive Specialist
The defensive anchor and court general, Wall brings steady composure under pressure. Her court vision, reliable passing, and high volleyball IQ consistently set up her teammates for offensive success.
Colbie Bostic | Outside Hitter / Right Side
A high-energy powerhouse on the wing, Colbie brings formidable attack power and dependable court coverage. Her relentless drive and leadership on the floor energize the entire lineup during tough conference battles.
Carlie Bostic | Libero
Wearing the libero jersey, Carlie functions as the heartbeat of the team's back-row defense. Her quick instincts, sacrifice on floor digs, and consistent serve reception repeatedly deny opponents second-chance opportunities.
Leah Gunderman | Outside Hitter / Setter
Gunderman’s multi-positional versatility makes her an invaluable asset. Whether delivering precise sets or attacking from the pin, her consistency and hustle keep the opponent's defense guessing.
Skylar Henderson | Middle Blocker / Utility
Stepping into high-level varsity competition with poise, Henderson’s rapid development, lateral mobility at the net, and efficiency have cemented her place among the conference's premier emerging talents.
Looking Ahead
Earning All-Conference honors is a testament to the sweat equity these young women have invested day in and day out. As they continue to represent our community with pride, grace, and athletic excellence, we extend our warmest congratulations to Jamilah, Ashia, Colbie, Carlie, Leah, and Skylar.
The future is incredibly bright for each of you—both on and off the court. Well deserved, ladies!
